Personally, my opinion is that the One Piece series is as two edged as sword for piracy as Santa Claus for the Catholic Church. You see, children and adults are confronted with pirates and maybe their interest is sparked in the topic, so they will continue to do a bit research for *real* buccaneers. On the other hand, that infamous anime is so WRONG in every tiny bit, as Japanese have naturally no historical, social or emotional connections to the Caribbean pirates and the colonial area, affected by Europe and it's culture. They are not famous for doing their homeworks properly, either, so One Piece is a red carpet for every amateur in piratology.
Yet, I know many of my watchers do like this show, and about taste there is no arguing possible. By chance, I found this blank wanted poster they use for their main characters, and decided to fill it. 120.000.000 is a ridiculous sum in my opinion, but that strange boy Luffy is rated on 300 millions, so this seems to be fair for a pro like Jaquard,
Dunno, maybe they have a hyper inflation on the Grand Line for years.

Whatever, your pirate looks pretty badass, I love it. I'll browse your gallery :3
And many thanks, too kind :)
1. The cannons in OP are hold by two people when fired
2. The masts are hold by the halyards and when they break, the masts are falling down
3. The OP pirates are "pirates who don't do anything" http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.p.....le94ctt9bsmafc
4. The most basic natural laws are worthless, like the powers of wind etc. 0o
5. There are some historical pirate names, but they are all portrait like fantasy freaks and have nothing in common with the real persons
etc
I am aware that it is a fantasy world, but this are so few basics one should keep in mind or research, and it is not... Thanks for the comment anyway
Let alone doesn't that series have a talking Reindeer in it and magic? I think at that point you need to accept it's just for fun, and by far no accurate depiction of past or present. :P

One piece is just a show of fun to be fun with a mingling of the theme of piracy or something like that
~one young, dead adventurer later...~
There was an Edward Teach and Edward England and surely many more who are not famous enough to be remembered. Newgate is/was a prison in Enland.
I am glad you like it, though ^^
I checked my books, my failure, sorry. Apoo is written in German with just one o and he got the first name Chang, so this was either a mistake by the author or the translator.
Und ich finde J passt hier sehr gut, das geht wunderbar.
I gotta find these blank wanted posters... to google! >>
And I gotta figure out how you got the fur to blend so well from orange to white.
The picture is from a commission I ordered, sry. I just made an light-filter on it and saved it as a gif, to create that rough colours. The original was googled indeed, easy to find
It´s awesome! BTW
The picture was a commission I got, and the background is from wikipiece "ships".....
Also, HMS Victory cost £63, 176 and three shillings to build when fitted out in 1778. So, I assume that currency is quite different, otherwise your character is worth approximately 1, 900 first rate ships of the line, more than the entirety of any navy of the period.
Anyway, excellent art, as always.

In any case, I like your picture and it deserves a nice +fav. But because you used that blank paper to insert your style, it has something "two-face" style. With that I mean the realistic mimic of the pirate (though he's a furry, which obviously isn't real), which says 'T'is ain't know fun' right away, without any glimmering or such. It is this very hard look on him, which makes the “Barry” Symbol sort out of place, for in my mind it provokes to think of One Piece, that funny world with happy trees and happy birds and happy cannons.
If that was intended, the irony is at hand and neatly done. Keep up your good work and rational, open mind. ;)
good shee nevertheless
