An incredibly atmospheric illustration that I purchased as a commission from the woefully underrated 
Buieb, and is also something that I've been looong overdue to reupload even though I claimed I was going to do so during the same week it was finished. Well, this along with pretty much everything else I've commissioned, anyway. I meant to submit this earlier, but unfortunately life got in the way and things got delayed after I finally contracted Covid-19 and was self isolating mostly as a precaution for a week even though my symptoms weren't terribly overwhelming.
This is an idea that I had in my head basically since I conceived the idea of August as a character, and I'm happy that Buieb was able to bring it to life so splendidly! I'll admit, I was slightly skeptical of how it's overall quality would be during the stage where the flat colours were added, but then he implemented the shading and I was completely blown away! It was such a drastic transformation! I've been endeavouring to try and get in touch with more SFW artists lately for things like this, and thankfully Buieb was more than happy to work with me in spite of some of my other interests at the forefront of my profile.
During the height of winter, August has had the misfortune of getting himself caught within a blustery, unforgiving blizzard, with the risk towards his survivability only amplified by the fact that he doesn't possess the proper insulation in the form of a thick, fluffy fur coat due to his seasonal disorder. After briefly enduring the harsh weather conditions, the frozen cervine finally managed to locate shelter, manifesting as a small alcove in the rock of the nearby mountainside. Seeking a reprieve from the battering winds, August proceeded to trudge inside and stood on his hind legs to slump with his back propped against the rugged cavern interior, crossing his forelegs across his chest in a further attempt to shield himself from the cold. Shivering, he directs his gaze to pensively stare out at the barren tundra, waiting for the storm to pass...

It's pretty much the only trait he possesses to separate him from the crowd; aside from his bipedalism, that is. Honestly, I often find myself worrying that he doesn't have enough unique visual elements to help him stand out in scenarios where the current season isn't readily apparent.
