Oh thats because the Stasis wasn't about that change, the specific change happened instantly. The stasis more refers to those spirits being held in limbo seperate from being awoken as drekir. So drekification is a process that happens within hours whereas the Stasis was a seperate process, they are not related.

I have to say this seems highly... unusual. The old lady didn't seem to be themselves which gives the impression perhaps possessed by something. She seemed to know a awful lot about Oli by their hand and then the eye change at the end makes me believe she was just being used as a vessel by something to talk to Oli.

Oli may very well be aware of the difference of their feelings but they have an entirely new brain with new instincts, they're just not gonna be able to pull motherly feelings out of nowhere. You don't get residual instincts from the brain that you used to have.
It would be more likely that Oli would realize how little they can actually care about the child and move on
