Maybe not-so-wild theory here? The reason why his device's battery has lasted so long may be cause it's meant to, if I think a bit about it... what sense does it make to just dump a SAEC member and a bunch of probably expensive equipment in the dragonscape just to be lost forever? Like sure they got the data from the extraction but what if this tablet is still somehow sending all the data Oli keeps dumping into it? Maybe they're also seeking to learn about drekir and colonies, and whether or not they may be a problem through this medium and sending unsuspecting people to their drekification in the scape just for it
Well I have said this in the past so, to be consistent I have to shoot this down.
Connections and living objects don't really leave the dragonscape, sound (IE internet waves and sound waves, etc.) get muddled in the journey outside of the DragonScape into meaningless dribble.
So if that were to be the plan it is entirely impossible for that information to leave the DragonScape, not saying its impossible to do and there are two ways that I could imagine it happening, but it's unlikely

It's the reason why they build a slight incline around the ditches that they built their homes in, and also why its covered up by with an overhead tarp. Doesn't stop all the water of course but keeps the excesses out by making the rainwater flow to other areas.
