Minalasi and the Patriarchs keep a very tight rein on their enclave, and while mildly annoying to a select few people in the town, they don't seem to do anything to warrant more than the occasional boot to the bottom. And even then, it doesn't seem to go any higher than that one person.
However, Minalasi has shown herself to be a yinglet of truly exceptional mental ability. And ambition.
Those two combinations are dangerous in any species, and Minalasi is leaning very heavily upon the racial prejudice and ignorance of the humans of Baramor. The problem is that Guild Lords aren't blessed with ignorance like the common population. They actually have to think. And people who think, notice things. Things that get stitched together into patterns, that provide a bigger picture.
Such as Casifar and his teams working with people to keep the peace, dispose of dangerous yinglets, rewarding humans who help them, and carefully avoiding those who wish them ill.
All of those things combine to present a picture of a group that has the potential to become a threat. Some people are okay with potential, and are content to leave well enough alone. Others, such as Trademaster Viracroix, are not content, and work to turn that potential threat into an asset, or even an ally.
That leaves the third category; those who would seek to eliminate potential threats before they become actual ones.
Who these guild-lords will turn out to be remains to be seen.
Yinglets are seen as somewhat part of the city.
Some people regard them as some people regard wild city dogs/ cats.
While others see them as wild city dog/cats, who can do human stuff - message delivering, small tasks. etc.
I was reading back, and I just picked up on something.
Episode 86. Minalasi asks, "Did you all get to the carts?"
Mori/Chiaro did not mention the carts. He saw them in his dream, but he didn't tell Minalasi about them.
Quite a few revealings indeed.
One guild has responsibility and control over the local wild area, and solely reigns over that department and any stuff regarding that.
So in a way, that one guild technically rules over the yinglets " because they live on the land "
But this kind of power has never been used in any way, and is so far only
a bit of official text on some dusty papers somewhere.
If it was something big about the enclave or the yinglets,
It would gain the attention of 1 more leader at most. Again, depending on the " problem "
But...
When all four leaders are assembled, we talk topics such as:
War.
Fundamental changes to rule/ways of ruling etc.
Extremely dangerous situations/ coming situations.
Other very important and controversial topics.
That grey yinglet with the weird eyes... is moving.
*Shocked gasp*
