It's not just a claw growing out of your paw, it's your own claw, but something's wrong. It's growing right in front of your eyes, lengthening and thickening, a big dagger like thing that's not at all what belongs there. And your paw itself is changing, strange brown scales emerging .. and then something catches your eye. A bit of movement behind you, and you quickly turn to look. It's your tail, but, is it? Strange protrusions are starting to stick out between the fur, weird flashes of crimson, and that damned mud again ..
