PCA Misc. - Burn's Profile

Ah, Burn. He's been with me since Pokemon Red, my very first Pokemon game. Originally he was the name of my trainer, then he was my Typhlosion in Silver, then my character in Mystery Dungeon 1 and 2, then he was my Pokemon in Colosseum, and so on and so on. Anyway, this version of him is from my main interpretation of him based on Mystery Dungeon Red, as shown in his history. Although in my main stories he is more of a war veteran than anything, in this he has a rather more realistic history.
Name: Burn Erako
Species: Typhlosion
Battle Skill: Very High
Age: 31
Height: 4’5” (2.2m)
Weight: 94.79lbs (83kg)
Family: Son: Aero Erako (Quilava)
History: Burn was far from the professional fighter that he was at the end of his career originally, only going into the leagues as a passing interest. Burn has hidden a lot of his history from his son because of his regret and guilt over some of the things he did, and is now stuck perpetually trying to train his son to be able to handle the things that he himself failed in his life.
Burn was originally born on an island nearby the main provinces of Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh; an island nearby the Orange Islands in fact. There he joined a rescue team of sorts; a part of a group of such teams who acted as the emergency services of the island. Along with his best friend Jaws, a fittingly named Totodile, he set out to become the hero he had always dreamed of being. Exploring mysterious caverns and sinister ruins the two became the best of friends, enjoying their relatively carefree adventures thoroughly. Both of them became very strong through their experiences, and led a number of other pokemon who had joined their team over the years.
However, during one of their adventures disaster struck the village where they lived; as a small meteorite was headed towards the island. While it would have been relatively small when it impacted the hit would have been enough to wipe the village from the map. While the inhabitants of the village evacuated Burn and Jaws stood strong, hoping to stop the impact by blasting it out of the sky with the help of an elder Rayquaza, who’s power was legendary. The duo set out on their quest to call upon his help, scaling his mythical tower of clouds with their newfound strength from their recent evolution
Burn, unlike his best friend, had doubts though. He couldn’t help but shake the idea that they wouldn’t be able to persuade the elder, that they would fail on the way up… a feeling was in him that disaster was well on the way. Unable to shake these concerns he voiced them to his comrade, who dismissed them quickly, believing that their courage would be more then enough to earn the dragon’s respect. Near the summit of the tower Burn refused to continue, unable to overcome his fears of failure, and the two fought over their opposing views. Finally they Jaws stopped their argument, refusing to give up and continuing to the summit. Burn however could not bring himself to continue, staying put on the final floor from fear. Eventually he got overh is fear and chased after his friend, ashamed for having abandoned him.
When he reached the top he found his friend fighting with the violent Rayquaza, and being beaten badly. The meteorite was not far from striking the town now, and could be seen clearly from the tower. Burn joined his friend in the fight, but without their combined energy the two failed, and were unable to stop the meteorite from obliterating the town.
Back upon the ground the two split up, with Burn quitting his team due to his shame and guilt over the accident, despite Jaws’ cries for him to remain with the team. Burn was unable to face his failure though, and fled to Viridian City. He ended up joining the battling league in a bid to get some funding for a home, and ended up getting much more fame and wealth than he had expected; as his talent in fighting was far beyond what he had thought it was and was now bolstered by his fury at himself from his shameful past.
Finally settling into a home in the suburbs of Viridian he settled down to train and finally overcome his failure through strength. He failed to realise that his problem was not a lack of strength but a lack of trust; which he only understood when he began to raise his son, Aero. In truth Aero never had a known mother, having been an egg sent to Burn by Jaws as a final symbol of their past friendship and as a bid to reunite the two. Burn refused to rejoin his partner though, still unable to handle his failure.
Personality: Burn is rather grim and cold to others; and has very little respect for others who aren’t fighters like himself. However; he is not selfish; and will often go out of his way to help or support others; though still keeping his cold demeanour. He tends to make most people feel quite nervous due to his tremendous strength coupled with his notorious temper; which has a tendency to blow at the worst of times.
In battle Burn is more at home; allowing his adrenaline and experience to take over his body. He tends to be very loud and reckless while fighting, attacking his foes with his furious strikes. While fighting he tends to get a bit too competitive though, often driving himself beyond fainting in order to secure his victory.
While he seems very cold and harsh on his son; he is very protective of him and truly does love him. As a man who lived through a tragedy though he can’t quite show his affections or his pride that his son has become so brave despite his experiences.
Interests: Burn is only really interested in fighting and letting his flames out once more, and isn’t shy to express this point. Although he is mostly only interested in becoming stronger through training or simply fighting anyone up to the challenge in local gyms or the like he has supposedly got a lighter-hearted side; having been rumoured to enjoy various sports and playing piano.
Appearance: Burn is a hulking figure, easily shadowing even other fighters with his muscular frame. A strange comparison to the usual streamlined Typhlosions Burn is instead a bulky figure, his shape having adapted to his far more strength-based fighting style; even though he was originally just as scrawny as Aero. He generally wears a tank-top and jeans regardless of the weather, as the cold of Winter means nothing to his flames.
Team and Relationships: Burn has only ever been close to his son, having since held no trust or friendship to anyone else due to his cold attitude and intimidating appearance. Since his failure he has been unable to open himself up to anyone due to his guilt, instead simply ignoring most people.

Anyway I like his backstory, and I enjoyed the little homage to MD. Pretty good profile.
Anyway, thanks for the comment. I do my best.
