RIP Ted Sheppard
Finally got a image I could use for the tribute to Ted Sheppard.
Shep was a good friend, compadre' and like a brother to me, thus he deserves the full color treatment (Colored by Richard Konkle).
Shep was also part of first fandom, active in Rowrbrazzle , Huzzah and a familiar sight at mostly west coast cons. Creator of the comic Stosstrupp and the creator of the viking era , Rossweisse. Shep's quiet voice was his standard, I can only recall him actually seriously raising his voice a few times. Plus he had a quick wit and had a prankster side as well. When
Karno once jokingly drew Shep as Godzilla, calling it 'Tedzilla' , showing him towering over people 'yelling' "roar" and the people looking up all asking "What?" "Whats it saying?" Many of the Tucson mob took delight saying "Tedzilla!" . Where Shep would then walk up to Karno and kick him in the shins, much to Karno's protests. Sometimes we'd do this 2-3 times to where Karno would jump back and hold off Shep.
And was a US Marine and later on, active with the US Army reserves crewing M-109A3s. His collections of WW2 Japanese gear was impressive, along with a decent Roman era items and coins. Shep was a antiquer at heart and knew his stuff when searching it out. He certainly taught me many things and what to look for.
Shep also sadly contracted a hyperly aggressive form of lupus last year and the last 2 months of his life was a roller-coaster of his body reacting to the disease. Sadly succumbing to it on June 5th.
I'm seriously going to miss him. Vaya Con Dios old friend.

It blows man when some trigger happy DA (they love to do this for those sweet reelection campaigns) will railroad someone who had nothing to do with it to get those convictions and run victory laps. hey got screwed and bad which sucks. Lupus is nasty as well as my grandma had it and it took her life

I wish I'd been introduced to his work earlier. He was clearly a genius; it's going to take a while, but I want to view his whole archive (or what the moderators have left of it).

I wanted to do a decent job with it, and the photo you provided was absolutely perfect. Plus showing Shep with Hagene' was something we both know he'd appreciate .
I just know he's smiling down on us and hanging with McMoo and Mark Wallace (While Willie is endlessly discussing SCA things.). Richard is going to give you a color copy of this.

Yeah, a certain noted shithead of the internet already got in my face about openly outing him and furthermore taunted me with his usual bullshit and self superior attitude.
Funny coming from a guy whos 57 whos NEVER held a job in his life, lives on the government tit and subsidized housing , a multiple arrest record for shoplifting and thinks he is the top chop in the case. All he does is troll various sites, and with multiple sock accounts to further boost his 'proof'. The guy is also obsessed with Christian Weston Chandler and pretending he's a 'Suuuuuper Geeeenius' when he's just a wanking lil fat boy furiously masturbating to his own alleged cleverness in his Government supplied concrete cube with his own drawings of harem girls painted/drawn on the walls.

Sorry to hear this. Sounds like a great man to have known. he was younger than me by 12 years. it is too bad that I could not have told him to go to Eisenhower in Palm Springs, the best hospital in the country for non-government people. also the most expensive with the most expensive doctors, but also the best too.

More and more it looks like Autumn leaves for the first generation of furs. Every time I look, another leaf blows across the landscape never to seen again. I rarely post or go to furmeets any more but this man deserves our respect for his service and his art. Stosstrupp Is one of my top ten favorite stories.
