I did predict that as climate change worsened, there would be vicious wars over resources. At least Venezuela's closer to home than Iraq - less shipping costs?

I wondered aloud to the good wife why I wasn't more angry about having my truck broken into, and my jack and jump-pack stolen. Instead, I just went "Aww dammit! Murphy strikes again. What a pain in the ass!" and got on with having the smashed window replaced. Is it maturity? Fatalism? Or are my anger glands just drying up as I age?
I figure I can afford a new 4-ton jack this month, and a new jump-pack next month. Any advice on what brands are - or are NOT - worth the money?

Speaking of anger (or lack thereof), the other day I got a text from who I think is a friend of a friend....I've met the guy a handful of times at the mutual friends' place, but only know him enough to say "hello". So I was somewhat surprised to read this:
"Because you do stupid and selfish shit constantly and it infuriates me because you need to pull your fucking retarded head out of your ass"
I responded with: "I don't recall doing anything to you, let alone "stupid and selfish shit". Can you name me some examples of what's got you so angry?"
I got no response to this, for the obvious reason he has no examples to recount. But that's OK, because I know all too well what's going on. He thinks he's found a soft target, someone he can spit on without fear of the punch in the teeth that normally follows such insults.
I had to deal with such people constantly when I was a kid. It got really bad for awhile. But then I got a growth spurt, and ended up a head taller than my tormentors. Able to kick them in the balls hard enough to lift 'em off the ground. That took all the fun out of bullying me, so my life quickly got a lot better. That's the lone trait of bullies that I like: Their cowardice.

Was doing the laundry yesterday, when I realized I was a househusband: My spouse goes out to earn the main income of the household, while I stay home & do the dishes, laundry and etc. But I work from home, so it just makes the most sense to do it like that. It's a pattern that's worked for millions of couples over thousands of years, so you could say it's a time-tested arrangement?
