TwitterWhen animals considered to be "prey" by the apex predators of the world begin to band together for safety, where does it leave those caught in between?
Namely, a pair of pine martens, carnivores and flesh-eaters themselves, but small enough to be considered food for the bears, wolves and gluttons of the forest and field. They're on a journey to seek sanctuary with the rabbits, squirrels and other prey that have gathered to Oren--but they don't know if welcome or condemnation will meet them.

He is literally separating himself from his son.
Having been bitten in the face, just like that by an Akita.
Just Munch... blood starts going everywhere, then it starts to hurt
Or well, is going easy on him.
... and Hemlock... seems to be somewhere else. Wondering if its gonna be a thing where Rask finally gets Yarrow to stop and listen, only to have Hemlock run him through at the end. Would be sad but... and im not justifying this but... poor squirrel :c only ally Rask had, and one of the rarer, more sensible ones out there. There is a blood debt to be paid here.
Bit worried that Hemlock is behind him.. will she let them finish or will she use this and strike out in her fear
She was already jittery when he was still just a toothed Marten, but now he has a "second bite".
Question is also can she now understand what they are talking as she is just a bystander, or is her adrenaline still stopping her from understanding predator.
