I am intentionally not clarifying whether or not oli was male or female.
But drekification does replace your body with a newly created drek body and there are plenty of accounts of a spirit not getting an exact 1:1 body in things like age, body type, and biological sex so it happens from time to time that a drek may wake up as a different sex than what they were before drekification.

I feel im pretty unabashed about Valsalia and their comic as part of a huge net of inspirations of mine so I am not surprised that the comparison sticks out but I don't think thats a bad thing. Valsalia seems like a pretty awesome and nice person and their comic is fantastic
