"Errm...Mara?"

"Yes Vincent?"

"I...there is something I wanted to tell you...for a long time now, b-but I never had the time...to say it to you."

The Kadabra's eye brightened slightly as looked up at her big friend. "Yeah? What is it, Vincent?"

"I...Um...I wanted to say that...that I..." stuttered the Nidoking, unable to tell his long time friend and team member that he had fallen in love with her the first day they met.

Mara glanced at her companion, confused by his hesitance. "Vincent...?"

"...it's nothing, forget about it."

"Oh...okay, Vincent." she said, smiling softly up at him. "Wasn't so important after all, was it?"

"...no...it...it's not important, you're right."

A moment later, the big mon softly hugged his psychic friend, placing a hand on her chin to softly stroke it, which in turn made the Kadabra giggle.

"Mara?"

"Yes Vincent?"

"You're my best friend..."

"Hehe, so are you, Vinny."

The Nido began to smile. Maybe he couldn't have all of it, but what he had was already very precious. And for that he was thankful.

Yeah, poor Vincent will probably never be anymore then a close friend to Mara, mostly due to his own fault. But he learned to be thankful for what he had. :)

With this pic I also finally have a ref for the both of them up. Wanted to have that for a long time.

PS: I totally forgot to every mention that Mara has hair, right? O_O

Cuz she totally has. A kinda complicated hair style even. See those bangs that are attached to the front of her hair? Those are long bangs/ponytails that come from the back of her head, are attached to her frontside and hang donw the sides of her face, under her ears. She wears them like this most of the time, except in battle to avoid getting her hair ripped out if it gets stuck anywhere, so she then either unattaches them and lets them hang down the back of her head or comb them or something.

PPS: Also it may not be too visible, but Vincents ears are indeed shorter then most other Nidokings, but his tail and horn are more impressive to make up for that. :)
