I'm one for travelling, and I've been to my fair share of places across the world (at least, until Covid hit). Australia, Tasmania, Japan (Hokkaido), Taiwan (three times), Myanmar, Shanghai, the list goes on a decent bit. But of all the places I've been, nowhere captivated and pulled me in with its beauty more than New Zealand does. I first went there in 2009, and in 2019 I returned for my sixth trip - I just cannot get enough of the place, even though I've been all around the two islands back and forth.
The serenity and sheer beauty of the place, the peacefulness, the quiet of the various hiking trails I visited, the friendliness and kindness of the people there, very little of what I've seen of the rest of the world so far compares with New Zealand. Perhaps, in the future, when all of this is over and proper travel can resume, I might see other parts of the world - goodness knows I've only seen a small part of it. But even so, I doubt that there are many other places out there that can ever rival the love that I have for that country of two islands. I cannot wait for my seventh.
Perhaps heaven exists, or it doesn't - but New Zealand is the closest thing we can ever get to it on this earth.
If there are any Kiwi people viewing this, I envy you without a doubt, and I hope that you can help take care and preserve your wonderful country - nothing compares. Mother Earth saw fit to give us a glimpse of paradise in your country, much as we humans certainly have done nothing to deserve it - I hope I can return very soon.
