Had the whole outdoor range to myself on Saturday. It was rather windy but it was at my back while on the rifle range. Only needed to lower the point of impact by raising the front sight pin about one turn. This antique performed flawlessly through twenty rounds of S & B, and 40 rounds of Wolf M43 FMJ, plus a couple old handloaded softpoints. The tan case to the right is an East German issue carry case for SKS/AK type rifles.

This brings back a few memories... at one time I had several Simonov's. Chinese, Romanian, Yugoslav, and even a '54 Russian Ishevsk (a rare bird) Over the years, I let them all go, when I needed extra money. All I have left is a so-so Yugo. I liked them all, save for the chinese, which was- umh-cheap. I can still kick myself for parting with the russkie, it was by far the best made SKS I've ever seen.
