This was the first furcon I have ever attended while lodging at the host hotel. Also served on staff. The first Great Lakes Furry Convention was held at the Ramada Inn of Grand Rapids, MI, but later was moved to Holland, MI. Con dates were also changed to the Memorial Day Weekend.

These changes may have doomed the con as an Ohio furcon is also run that weekend. Also, most people are spending time attending parades or family events. Holland is also a vacation destination, so hotel space could prove rather pricey. So GLFC was canceled several years ago leaving MI with just one annual furcon.
