I wasn't sure what I expected the truth to be concerning that, but I don't think it was this. Looks like Fuxie can be quite the surprise.
Her expression in panel 7 just... really pulled my heartstrings. The 'I know I shouldn't get attached to this guy, but it happened anyway' look. Like it started with Fuxie simply pretending to be Nishi's sister, but that relationship somehow grew to where they really -are- family now. It's also ironically appropriate that I never paid attention to that tattoo until now o_o
Overall, I've been finding the plot of your comics to be pretty fast-paced and to the point, which is good sometimes but other times feels a bit too rushed... but its pages like these that show that you really know what you're doing =3

Haha, I felt like the serious stuff gets too predictable, so I'm glad there can still be some nice surprises in it. :3 And I'm glad there are enough details for some not stand out until the right moment too. 8D
As far as pacing, I think these last two chapters are really different compared to the whole comic. At first I wanted it to be quick and angry and done, but now I've started taking my time and letting things come out naturally, and I like this pace a lot better. (: I'm glad this one gives off that better vibe!

This quite the emotional exchange. I bet Cooni never expected to hear, amidst it all, that Fuxie had grown attached to him. His expression in the bottom-middle panel really sells the "I don't believe what I am hearing." element that must be rolling around in his head upon taking in all that Fuxie had to, without much hesitation or grumbling, share with him.
A very enjoyable aspect of these latter missions is how much Fuxie has grown from being a reckless thug that is hellbent on success into a troubled soul who, despite her rough exterior, is, in her own way, trying to find peace with the world.
It's stuff like this that makes me want to root for Fuxie just as much as I want to pull for Foxie. Sure Foxy has every reason in the world to dispatch Fuxie. However, getting to know Fuxie and become attached to her like this makes it hard to sit back and say, "She deserves it."
In the end, if one should fall, there definately will be a lot of quality emotion and drama behind it all. Very, very well played indeed! :)

It's definitely not something she'd normally say or sound like! Even around her closest friends she might not say things like that very often. But it's good that even someone like her is able to say what she needs to. (:
