Marten was waiting by the large archway to the ice cream parlor, the new break-time installation in Bowser's castle, every so often they're get a break and be able to enjoy their short time before going back to their daily lives as Bowser's subjects, Marten was a Sledge Bro and had a blue shell, he looked rather round. Today he was waiting for his partner Koopsker before going to get ice cream, though he was pretty hungry already.

Koopsker was running late. He was supposed to meet his partner at a new place they were opening. And it had only cost a 5 coin reduction in their payroll. What a steal. The Koopa Troopa ran over to the corner of the castle where he was supposed to meet with Marten. he was wearing his now-restored purple shell (which was still a simple green shell painted purple) and a new pair of matching purple boots, which he had nabbed from a distracted Dark Koopa the previous month.

Marten waved as he spotted Koopsker moving as fast as he can, already trying to yell an explanation for being late.

"Whew...hey. Sorry. I got caught in a situation back there...you see, I saw a Shy Guy and a Boo...and they were having this weird kind of staring contest, and they wouldn't let anybody go through them, but they were pretty much taking up the entire alley, and they wouldn't move...so I had to look for a different way to get here, and so I pretty much had to go around the entire south wall...and also I pretty much also got squished by this Thwomp in a very bad location..." Koopsker began rambling on.

As he began on a rant, Marten pulled him inside and in line, which was rather short considering not many breaks were given out...

"...so, instead of just waiting it out, I decided to sneak by when he wasn't looking, although I feel like he knew..." He blinked. "Oh, what are we having?"

Marten laughed, while he was rambling they had gotten to the front of the line. "Oh, you order first!" He looked at the menu himself.

"Oh...lots of things...hm...what do I want...hm...maybe something with chocolate...or, wait...haven't had strawberry in a while...maybe vanilla? Something simple for a regular day like this...dunno. Marten?" He elbowed the big guy behind him. "What do you think, hm?"

"I know what I'm getting..." He grinned. "I'm gonna have a chocolate dipped ice cream with lots of whipped cream and rock candy!" He looked to Koopsker. "Don't you like cones and chocolate?"

"Hmmm...I do like cones, but they are crumbly or may get soggy..." He said, with his trademark lazy look on his face. "Maybe the stuff on a cone...but on a glass? Yeah, that'd work..." He peeked over the counter. "Uh, hey...can I have a triple chocolate-strawberry-vanilla cone, but like, on a glass? And with chocolate syrup on it..."

The Goomba behind the counter grumbled, a long line having formed behind us as he makes our ice creams, we pay and sit to the left of the register. "Okaaaay! All set!"

"I gotta say, I think I missed being around here...stuff is much easier to do when you don't have to be hiding, you know?"

Marten nodded. "Yeah, plus, this place isn't so bad, we were accepted back no problem..." He lifted his ice cream in his left hand, chocolate sauce dribbling down the glass. "Cheers to being back!"

He grabbed his glass cup and lifted it up as well. "Cheers to that, Marten." Taking the spoon, he began to scoop up some of the ice cream, a small smile forming on his otherwise blank face.
