Demon Collateral: Demon Concepts A

I introduce to you the characters from Demon Collateral, my project in the works since the beginning of summer. The image is from May, I believe.

Left to right:

- the demon of mischief
- the demon of famine
- the demon of the disabled
- the demon of infants and children

The lanterns represent death in their department. The main character is the pink one. The orb the blue one has shows the faces of many crying parents.

Graphite, coloured pencil, and watercolour on 4ply matboard with some Photoshop

I actually have to say that I like most of your traditional stuff better because of the textures that are made with the mediums. Just plain awesome, I'm definitely seeing improvements.

And sketching is lots easier too. Although I have to say that anything I do digitally now will be done in flash as far as pen works go, because the shapes and quality of line I make is exactly how I want it.

Already commented I think on DA, but this is a great piece You seem to be hitting a somewhat winning combination with the mixed traditonal with digital touching up.

I don't think I've ever jumped into a medium without it owning me for a significant number of attempts first. Watercolour is one of the most difficult mediums I've used, but it's really powerful and versatile! That's why I keep coming back.

I've seen people achieve some pretty amazing effects with water-colour, but it seems to be a medium that many people struggle with. Much kudos to you for keeping on at it until you're happy with the results, though. As opposed to running off screaming into the good night.
