Viking/Saxon era ankleboots

A set of Viking era ankle boots I made a while back.
(Just in case anyone thinks I only make fetish gear....;)
The toggles to hold them secure are not yet added, and some cloth scraps are stuffed inside to keep the shape.
(Those long tabs wrap around and fasten on the side with a toggle or button, and you wear them with long pieces of wool or other fabric wrapped from the ankle to the knee.)
I plan to add another layer of sole- the current one is too thin for real comfort on rocky ground, but am in no hurry, as I do not think I'll be doing another event requiring ancient footgear anytime soon.
Yes, I really do make things I have no real or immediate use for just to make them...;)

I spent a lot of time making paper patterns....
These don't work quite the way I wanted them to, but they were also made before I learned anything about turnshoes.
Sorry this reply is so long delayed- I don't check here as often as I should.
Some sites that may help in learning cobbling-
