I drew this about a year ago as a sort of "Vent Art" piece, because at that time I felt all the World was ganging up on me, and it seemed that no matter how I'd move, I'd fall right into my enemy's traps. However, I discovered that Mr. Foxy does have a way out of his predicament, as long as Everybody else plays by "The Rules." (Riiiight Queen Millie?)

You know, the best thing I learned about chess is something that applies to real life as well.
Instead of aiming for the best result, aim for the result that minimizes how much the opponent can affect you. Of course, sometimes a gamble might be worth it, but if you've already lost your footing, don't risk anything more than you really, really need to.

all is far from hopeless, if its blacks move and black still has its queen, or even any other power piece in a position to do so.
in the very worst case, he can still die killing a horse.
and if black still has a couple of power pieces out of sight and out of mind from this angle,
white could still be mated in one! if they're in the right positions.
(i've seen it happen. usually when i was playing white, of course)

white moves first, which is an advantage for getting pieces in position where they will do the most good. so its that, but its only that. a stronger more experienced player, if they want to try and balance things, will take black and let the newer player take white, to give them that advantage. its also, not really about taking peices, other then as part of the stratigy to gain advantage. there's really only one goal, and that's to take out the other's king. everything else, all the moves and stratigy, is just about that. there's as many openings to give black a chance as there are for white to press its advantage.
there's just books and books of openings and stratigies and all that. and there are players who can see so many moves deep so quickly, i can't even imagine how they do it. and yah, there's a whole psychology, like there is with poker, of psycing your opponent's style and all that.
i never got even close to beyond the wood pusher stage, as they call it, but i did sometimes play against good players, but that was a long time ago, when i even thought that much about it. it was before we had role playing games and all that. i was dumb enough to think it had anything to do with stratigy in real life. it doesn't very much really, its kind of its own universe in itself. but still its one there's so much to.

Oddly enough, many years ago, when I used to drive on highways to work, I had compared my commute to being a piece on a chess board , with all of the other pieces (cars) moving simultaneously! Today, it's even worse with motorists texting or talking on cell phones while they drive!
The "Video Chess" cartridge for the old Atari 2600 was one of the very first video games where the computer cheated. It was always you against the computer, and whenever the computer would think about its next move, the screen would go blank. Higher difficulty levels increased the length of time that the computer would decide what it would do. But on the highest level, the computer took so much time (HOURS!), most kids just left the game console on late at night, turned off the TV, and went to bed, hoping to continue the game the next morning. When they did that, however, kids often found that not only had the computer moved more than one of its own chess pieces, but several of THEIRS as well!
Wow! That certainly brings back memories. Around my home in the late 1970s our favorites were "Berserk" with it's flying hamburgers and radial tires, Deadly Duck, Robot tank, and Centipede. If it worked right, we also liked "Shooting Gallery," but that particular cartridge was always a bit "Twitchy."
Yes! Yes. Of course. As I noted at the beginning, this was a "Vent" piece, drawn with the intentions of making myself feel better. It might look dark for our plucky little Vulpuloid, but I'm certain he'll figure out something that will get his tail out of that scrape because he's got one of the most powerful weapon of all. ...A good writer.
Oh man. I love that old Fleischer stuff. I saw many Koko the Clown and Betty Boop cartoons while I was growing up, and thought the idea of the cartoon characters appearing out of the inkwells was just pure "Magic." Thanks for the compliment too. To me, cartooning is kind of like "Acting," but with a pencil, pen and paper. (And most recently Photoshop.) So I really enjoy trying to get the posture, expressions and positions of the characters just right, so they can tell the story, hopefully in one shot.
That's very creative of saying this is my life that I'm suffering right now, but how can I make a move to make it all better or worse? Life is always like a game of chess, there are so many different moves that can be taken as possible. Yet how can be done without walking into traps? So many choices, such choices, much wow. I do recall having some people trying to play mental mind games on me to get what they want. However, I was able to figure out, avoid giving them what they want and they never try that again on me anymore. Yeah, that's life at times as a furry.
I just had a thought. I could have made the image much more ironic if I drew up the "Attacking" pieces as "Human" and left Mr. Foxy obviously a "Furry" character. Then I got to thinking that the "Bishop" being all peaceful and benign looking while raising his dagger for the kill might represent to some the Hypocrisy of the church. Not a good idea.
LoL, yeah I can understand Hypocrisy of the church thing. However, there are some great and wonderful churches that I have visited is not all about hypocrisy stuff. I can understand the problem on whatever there is a god or not, how many different of churches trying to handle god's words. Yes there's some churches that really do have gone too far with their own hypocrisy stuff. God's word, the bible, really do get misused too much by people who tried to fit it in their own wicked ways as possible.
My parents are one of those great christians I do ever have in my life, They really did allowed me to get sexually attached to cartoon animals. They really never show negative to it. They did thought it's funny and interesting when they found out about it. They're just silly cartoon animals who talks and act out human feelings. Church should be all about understanding, allowing people to make choices with their beliefs, not forcing others to do the same. There is lot of good people in my church. They can be strict and kind of in your face in some ways, but it's more out of caring for others, love and faith. They have to learn and allow non-believers and believers to do their own ways. They can only do so much.
People have to choose their own path in life. If they don't believe in god, that'e fine and understandable.
