Vinci & Arty sequel arc (feature presentation) 0 page 7
This page introduces one of the themes that was absent from V&A that I want to explore in this comic, and that is the sagittarians and their equality movement.
A sagittarian is any person that uses more than one pair of legs to walk. This is a world without sentient ferals so "person" or "being" are terms these anthropomorphic animals use to differentiate themselves from their evolutionary cousins (non-anthro creatures like you'd find in our world). But most of the time they can just say something like "I saw a wolf today," and context infers the rest. That's getting off the subject though.
Sagittarians! They include mostly insects but not necessarily all of them (some bugs walk on two legs). Insect + mammal/bird/reptile/whatevs hybrids are rare but can also produce a sagittarian, so if you see a mammal sagittarian (like, say, a squirreltaur looking thing.. hint hint!) chances are they've got a bug in their family tree. Rarely you will have a purely mammal sagittarian species, like your classic centaur. And of course, many insect hybrids, like Custard, are born with one pair of legs.
Aaanywho, unfortunately for a long time it's been a very reverse Animal Farmy society (two legs gooood! more legs baaad!), so sagittarians have been treated poorly for a long time, used as sentient workhorses or even raced for sport, as Thunder-bird Storming Through The Heavens (to give her former track name) here is describing. It's getting better bit by bit, but as a whole this world still has a long way to go and a lot to learn. Castor & Pollux's arcs especially will be dealing with the double standards of how hybrids are treated.
Thunder is a millipede, in case you're curious, and she has 44 limbs. And she's actually one of my favorite characters to draw in the new series so far. :) She's an example of an insect with some mammal lineage somewhere deep in her family tree, hence the fuzzier look, but you'll also see insect sagittarians that more closely resemble their evolutionary cousins too.
Oh, and
rdewalt was a huuuge help and drew the servers for me! Thanks hon! <3

I understand what you're trying to using the different fonts for each character, but it's making it really hard to read. The decorative curly font and the font that is twice as small as the others require long pauses to decipher, which in turn kills any momentum to the story. It's something you may want to rethink if you're going to be doing comics of more than a few pages.
Oh my... You mentioned this and it's looking great so far, and the themes sound interesting. I'll be curious to see how the story develops.
I'll have to admit that the curly font is a bit tough to read.
Nice artwork and as ever, awesome character designs (seems almost redundant to say ;) ) and nice use of frames too.
Just don't get tired of drawing all those legs! and does the bandage imply that Thunder is only recently retired from the sporting world?

I love drawing all the legs :D! Don't worry, I'm going to rework Slaw's font! Thunder's injury is old, but it was significant enough that it's caused lasting damage. Like Arty and his cane, she's got good days where she can go without the brace and bad days where she needs it.
