Lyn "Ferret" Tomson memorial

It was a year ago that I got the news from my good friend Matt in Texas that our friend Lyn "Ferret" Tomson had suffered a massive stroke which left him alive but unconscious on his kitchen floor for nearly three days. By March first of that year, the decision was made to "pull the plug" and let his body finally come to rest. Earlier, Lyn made it clear that he wanted his organs donated for medical use, and so in a way, a little bit of Lyn lives on. At his "Rememberance" last Summer I got to chat with many of Matt's friends who knew Lyn, and I feel Cindy Martine summed his personality and spirit best. "He was... Always so useful." We also shared a few laughs discussing his fate, which included tending and maintaining Hell's Boilers, (He worked many years tending the boilers in a High School and had some interesting stories about the "Superior" Brand.) Or that he might just be in outer Space telling the UFO Pilots how to get more speed out of their interstellar craft.
So in this image I tried to capture Lyn's "Fursona" as a ferret because Mustilids and Viverids were his favorite critters, and he was always so full of curiosity and boundless energy. The stars surrounding him represent his good friends, and the flying saucers represent his love of Science Fiction and Fantasy. Of course Lyn had several publication projects he was working on, including his Stock Car Racing themed comics called "One Lap Down." The tiny helicopter represents his fascination for rotating winged aircraft, and I couldn't resist drawing his halo a little bit "Off Center."
He was quite a "Character," that's for sure.

Wonder if he was able to see the 'Tribute' we did at Mattcon last year, I'd like to think so.
Myth
PS: Yes, excellent tribute image, Roy. You did good! <smiles>
