I've been waiting a whole year to work on this image. Here, a Lycali soldier in power armor gets ready to do battle with unseen Human soldiers using a grenade designed to put similar battle armor out of commission.

It's a long story, so here goes. The Lycali were genetically advanced wolves that were upgraded to be hunted in the recreational forests of Tazero which was a "Recreational" Planet built by an advanced Starfaring Empire. The Lycali turned out to be far more intelligent than their creators figured on, and the wolf-people started adapting Human built weapons and vehicles for their use. Eventually the upgraded creatures rebelled against their decadent and arrogant Human masters, and caused the Imperials to flee in panic. One city sized ship lifted off from Tazero, and it's overloaded power core went "Scramble" causing a matter conversion reaction that scrubbed the planet as smooth as a billiard ball. Some Lycali escaped and set up on a planet they named "Rrrurraarrrarrrarr." (R U R R.) They're now trying to defend their new world from Human invasion, and yes, they're still carrying a grudge.
Boring? I agree. Recently I had to sit and watch a "Marathon" of bad werewolf movies and really regretted that the wolf-kind never showed an ounce of intellect, curiosity nor compassion. Sadly, I believe a "Good" Werewolf movie wouldn't sell and most "Horror" writers prefer to create Anthro characters which are considered "Evil" and line them up like targets to get mowed down like Zombies. Zombies are a "Cheap way out" for Hollywood these days.
...Sigh.
...Sigh.
The stories I've read thus far by S. Andrew Swan were full of violence, intrigue, smoldering sex, and with the theme that most the "Moreaus" (Genetically altered humans made tl resemble animal forms.) had a grudge against humans, and vice-versa. The stories, written in the mid 1990s are kind of dated though as some of the "Gee Whiz" future technology he wrote of has been created and exceeded by current technology. I'll admit though he writes a good yarn, and so far his works are better than some Fanfoc I've read. Heh! I just had a funnt thought. Perhaps his improvement in writing skills might have been boosted by the ongoing development of the PC or the Laptop?
I must confess that I've been trying to navigate that Lego parts catalog for some time, but the page freezes up after about ten pages on the Public Library computers. Perhaps it might be better if I darken up my pencil sketches and post them here on my FA "Scraps" file for you.
Kinda. I based Lycali speech on a language developed for the vocally disabled which sounds like a series of grunts and growls. Of course I'm certain that many Armies through the centuries might pick up enough of the enemy's language to harass and intimidate their combatants.
Oh yeah! I've been influenced by Appleseed, plus Macross, Gasaraka, Southern Cross, VOTOMS, Patlabor, Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, Ghost in the shell, and even artists like Mobius and even H R Geiger.
Then again I've also had a lot of inspiration from other "Tech" artists here on FA too.

LOL! As far as I know, like the Eric Von Karman character said in "The Right Stuff" movie, they "Do it in the suit." At least some of the SF 3D info says the mecha and battlesuit pilots can use "Relief Tubes," but I figure even in the 24th Century everyone in space has to get used to wearing Astronaut style "Diapers."
