So... April. Sorry for going dark for a while, I promise I'm okay.

Life just got really busy in the second half of March, and it snowballed into an April filled with stress headaches. It's weird, since there's not even that much specific stuff I can point to as the direct cause. It's more just that little things had been building up and really spilled over. Honestly, it was building for a long time before this. I guess it would be more accurate to say that I'm not as recovered from burning out last year as I thought, and hoped, I would be.

My irl job is partly to blame, although I really can't pin everything on that. I started back in September and have been adjusting pretty well. I genuinely like it, but it's been a big change of pace from my previous job. Jumping from unstable part-time chaos into a full time office setting has definitely had its benefits (pay and insurance being big ones!), but realizing just how little time I actually have at home has been... jarring. Everything feels like it's been one big adjustment period.

I do want to put more time into this community again. I want to find the joy in it that I've had for so long, even before making this account. It's just felt like a lot trying to keep my head above water lately. I've been getting stress headaches and screen time has been making them worse, which leads to me being more stressed about getting back to people, and... augh. It's not an excuse for leaving messages hanging for so long, but just. providing some context, I guess.

The silver lining is that being forced away from my computer more means that I've actually gotten some physical stuff done, which has been a nice change of pace. bigandsoft and I made plans with a couple of friends last year to make it to FWA, and it's crazy to think that we're leaving for Atlanta in less than 24 hours now! Admittedly the trip has induced its own brand of stress, but I'm really hoping that once we get settled in there it'll be a lot of fun. (And let me know if you found this account through a business card! I'm hoping they'll catch some eyes :P)

With that all said, I'll be catching up on messages and sending commission updates as soon as possible. I'm sorry y'all have had a longer wait than my usual turnaround time, and next time I open commissions I plan to use a slot system to avoid overloading myself the way I did this time. I really, really appreciate your support, and I hope y'all can forgive the delays. Once I'm back home and some of the stress has lifted I should be moving much faster on my queue.
