A bad news update...
General | Posted 11 years agoSo boy am I happy I have a comic buffer. Friday night the motherboard on my desktop did a swan dive. At the moment I am using my Laptop as a work station and it will serve. I managed to load my art program to it and will be able to keep drawing pages but even with that I've lost access to many of my files until the parts come in and she can be rebuilt. Should be a few weeks. I had been intending to upgrade next month, but looks like it'll be sooner then expected.
We're back!
General | Posted 11 years agoHello everyone! It was a very productive hiatus, I have a bit of a buffer now so I don't feel so rushed each week and in case of illness! Because I work in a call center.....yeah....viruses....EVERYWHERE! O.o;;;;
Otherwise all is well. :) I had a nice break, did a lot of work on the Other Shores project as well as on Trials and have noticed a marked improvement in my art. I also think Dragon Age Inquisition is HIGHLY addictive >.>. My inquisitor is a Qunari :)

Comic announcement and Big Hero 6
General | Posted 11 years agoHey guys, so a quick note, the comic will be going on Hiatus from Dec 1st to Feb 1st. On the tapastic site there will be lil short interludes and what not but no new pages. Why am I doing this? Well for a couple reasons, I desperately need a back log on this comic. I have been exceedingly frustrated that while I can push a comic page out in a week I don't have time to make last minute corrections, or notice spelling errors (ick). This has lead to more then one page in recent weeks that has made me cringe inwardly because I KNOW I can draw better then that and I don't feel I have the time to display the quality I KNOW I am capable of. While I know this probably doesn't matter to most of you who like the comic it's still a situation I'd like to correct. It also means that weeks I get sick there is no comic, which just sucks. So yeah, hiatus to build a back log. We also have several new characters showing up soon and I need to take the time finalize their designs.
SO with that out of the way I saw Big Hero 6 the other day and LOVED it. While the red herring was a little too obvious the situations with Baymax calmly and in a friendly tone speaking while panic ensued around him was just hilarious. My friends and I were in stitches for over half the movie from that alone. The animation is also extremely fluid and beautiful and the design of San Fransokyo feels like a real futuristic city. Alot of companies have a bad habit of making futuristic cities extremely clean and crisp, but a city, futuristic or not, is still a city. It's full of people, animals, garbage, run down areas and areas of high industry. It's not going to be squeaky clean. :)
So yeah, very impressed :D

A Tapastic update :D
General | Posted 11 years agoHi guys,
We've recently migrated over to Tapastic and the old site is being fazed out. Which is good because I really disliked the layout but didn't have time to code one myself (oh 40 hour a week job, you slay my free time). Please stop by! You can watch us on there and never miss any update :D woot.
http://tapastic.com/digifastproductions
Anyway, aside from that I have started playing Wakfu as the cartoon on Netflix caught my attention. Loving the style and the gameplay of the game, loving the animation of the cartoon, buuuut because the original cartoon was lip synced in french the english dub can be a bit on the cheesy side. Still some of the jokes are hilarious.
Also batting around some new button ideas for the next time I'm able to attend a convention. :D

We're back
General | Posted 12 years agoAnd with that we're back :D. Vacation was fun but I need a vacation from my vacation. :P
Note about comic uploads for the next two weeks.
General | Posted 12 years agoThe comic will continue to update, however, I am going to be traveling to visit family. Because of this I won't be uploading the comic to here and deviant art until after I get back. However, you can view those weeks pages on https://www.digifastproductions.com which is the main site maintained by DJ. :) See you when I return!
Two weeks without a comic? D:
General | Posted 12 years agoNo worries fans, I haven't abandoned the comic. :) Holidays kept me busy and I had planned to post a comic today but...well.... *cough* This headcold has wrecked me. I woke up something like 6 or 7 times last night and that was AFTER taking nyquil which typically knocks me out. The trouble is the cough, I just go into a lovely doze and my throat makes a noise which then wakes me up. ARGH.
I am rather miserable at the moment.
Not to worry. There will be an update by next sunday the latest. By then I should be mostly done with this illness >.<

New Zelda, Guild wars 2, pokemon y, and wishing for folders
General | Posted 12 years ago:D
Sooooo! I got both Pokemon Y and the new Zelda for 3DS. In the case of Zelda the SNES A link to the past was my favorite video game growing up, close second way Secret of mana, but anyway. I was really looking forward to this new one as it was a sequel...sorta, and because it shook up the usual Zelda formula. I am NOT disappointed. The game is not only beautiful but this new way of exploring makes the world feel so much more open! I can go anywhere! Do anything, tackle any dungeon in any order, no constraints!
A few tips to those who might be considering the game. 1.) Find the Maimai's as soon as possible! 2.) the pegasus boots are actually super easy to get, just attach yourself to the wall a way off from the running dude in karakariko village then pop out behind him. He'll cough up the boots. 3.) save often! (which probably goes without saying, lol)
If anyone wants my friend code for Pokemon y just let me know. I don't play that as often, partially because I'm very obsessed with Zelda right now. But I do play.
As for Guild Wars 2, if anyone here is on the Anvil Rock server and is looking for a guild let me know. I have like, 2 people in mine and would like to get more. This is a relaxed guild. I don't require people to be on at specific times or compete in specific events. It's more a, "hey, I'm having trouble, can you come help me out here?" Or "Hey, let's do some dungeons today or pvp, or whatever". I don't like strict guilds because real life comes first. :) I just ask that people be nice to each other and help each other out.
Anyways, that's all for me today.... Oh, one thing I kinda wish we had here in FA was folders. I'd like to start some other comics as well, but I don't want people getting confused. :) TTFN!

Games and Shows :D
General | Posted 12 years agoI got Arkham origins today and so far, it's well, so so. I'm not that far into it yet, but I will say this, the controls feel a bit clunkier then Asylum or City and while this actor is doing an admirable job of being Batman, well..... Sorry, Conroy is still the best Batman. But I may be biased since I'm a big fan of the 90s cartoon.
I finished the new Phoenix Wright and enjoyed it a lot. However, Turnabout Storm, which is a fan project on Youtube kinda spoiled me. I really like that person's Phoenix and listening to the official dub, meh, it just didn't sound as good. That's kinda bad when the fan project sounds better then the official, LOL.
I've also been watching Arrow, and I'm pretty impressed. I'm not that far into season 1 so no spoilers please ;)
Anyways, many of you have been popping up and enjoying the comic and I'm delighted! :D Thank you for your support! I'll do my best to continue to improve my drawing skills and to entertain you all. :)
At this time with a new tablet, which is allowing me to produce faster, I'm going to start investigating opening a store. :D I will post a link here when it's done and also on the comic's homepage https://www.digifastproductions.com.
I also am considering starting my personal comic as well which is unrelated to ToaN. So you may see that in the future as well :D TTFN.

Yeah new tablet!
General | Posted 12 years agoThe new tablet is working out great! Though it's definitely very different from my old one, although in a good way. :) Thank you to everyone who made suggestions! I spent a good deal of the week tinkering with the settings while doing the comic and I think I've almost got it perfect for me. Unfortunately I was a bit distracted as well....
Heh....
The new Phoenix Wright came out and I adore it! I just got to turnabout 3. :D
I love the animations, though the voices aren't quite who I expected to be playing the parts it still works. I think the only thing that's bugging me so far is in the previous games they never really showed who did the killings in the beginning cinematic. They inferred a lot, but never outright showed it. I know that part of that was due to the limited technology of the time, but I preferred it.
It felt like you had to uncover who the culprit was. Sure you would have suspicions based on silhouttes or things said, but it was never just shown. :( Oh well.
:) Still a wonderful game and if you're a Phoenix Wright Fan I encourage you to download it. Unfortunately capcom is concerned the series has lost popularity and won't sell if they do physical copies. So download today :D Prove them wrong! I want more!

Anyone have a good drawing tablet to recommend?
General | Posted 12 years agoSo as some of you may have seen in my FrostWing picture I lamented that it's probably time for a tablet upgrade. What I have now is a Wacom Graphire, yanno, the tiny drawing area white tablet that's about 100 bucks, I think it was 90 or 80 when I bought it. It's served me well, but I've had it for several years at this point and I have never gotten the pressure settings to work properly on it.
Now that I'm doing less, drawing on paper then scanning and more start to finish digital I'm finding the tablet just isn't cutting the mustard. It's difficult to perform a nice curve on a line with such a tiny drawing area. Worse is that to put a point on any line I have to actually go back in with an eraser tool and carve the line into an appropriate point. While this LOOKS awesome, unfortunately, for comic work this can be extremely time consuming. Frankly I wouldn't have to do it so much if the bloody pressure sensitivity on the tablet actually WORKED.
So that leads me here, I'm asking what tablets some of my fellow artists use.
Things I'm looking for in specific is a bigger drawing area but I don't want a tablet that's more then a few hundred bucks at most. :) sooooo any suggestions?

Catching up here :)
General | Posted 12 years agoComic releases on Sunday each week. I've been uploading on Deviant art and decided to catch up here. I'm not really fond of the 60 second wait between uploads, particularly when I have 10 pages I'm trying to upload. I understand the whole not wanting to flood the front page thing, but when I don't have a lot of time it makes having to do multiple uploads a bit of a pain.
:) Anyway, enjoy! See you all soon!

This is taking longer then I thought....
General | Posted 13 years agoFor those of you who took my business card at Furlandia and those of you who heard about it. I am working on a comic called Trials of a necromancer. Remember at con when I said it'll be out in the next two months....
That may have been slightly......ambitious....
*cough*
No worries, I AM working on it and I do have several pages done. Just not enough. And it's only two weeks until the middle of June. ARGH!!!!
My writer has assured me I'm moving fast enough for him. And for those of you who were really interested in it I ask for your patience as well. Allergies, job, assisting friends, and in general LIFE. Has made it so I finish one page about every week or week and a half. :/ not where I wanted to be.
*sigh*
I haven't given up but it may take a teensy bit longer then I originally predicted.

Convention fun!
General | Posted 13 years agoThis last weekend was the Furlandia convention, the whole thing went rather well, especially for my first time ever having a dealer's table. My buttons were quite popular, and so were a few of the prints. :) It was wonderful to see so many different people and costumes as well as meeting all the different artists.
It was a wonderful time and I'd love to have another table at the next convention.
For my new watchers, HELLO!!! :D Welcome, welcome!
I have left over prints and buttons, so for anyone who stopped by my table and really wanted one but couldn't get it at the time, lemme know, they're still for sale :D.

Productive!!!
General | Posted 14 years agoHoly cow have I have been drawing away. I think I've filled half my sketchbook with character notes and designs already. Woot! :D Part of it is the wonderful reception I've had here, it makes me want to show more of my work and I appreciate the support.
I dunno if it shows any of my watchers, but I also threw a sketch into scraps. It was something silly so I'm not going to finish it, but I don't think anyone here has seen a picture of Segrath before. I'm working on a better one to clean up and color :)

General | Posted 14 years agoPulled out my sketchbook and found some pieces to show. :) Enjoy, they're not great, but at least it's better then blank space.
Where's the art?
General | Posted 14 years agoHello,
Please excuse the lack of content, I hope it won't discourage people from looking at my stuff in the future. Normally I'd have a ton of stuff to show when I move into a new site. But, my last computer died taking out motherboard, power supply and....hard drive. And like an idiot guess who didn't back up her works?
Guess?
No really, guess. First two tries don't count.
Yeah, so pardon the dust. I'm sadly slow to produce. I make tons of sketches but am picky about what I want to show off. :<
I promise art will be here!
See you soon I hope :)
Your friendly neighborhood art recluse.
P.s. Some people think I'd work faster if I stopped playing Mass effect 3.... Pssssh what do they know ;)
