So a lot of things are changing for me in 2014. I will be doing a lot more conventions for a start, there are also plans to have Black Eye Princess available as an E book, should I succeed at getting a Kick-starter off the ground. I also have another comic in the works, but for the moment shall keep it tightly under wraps. It's a stand alone, in the same universe as my other works, but a much different approach to the story and characters. Concept art will be up in the new year.
As a treat for those of you who have followed me through the years of working on Black Eye Princess, but never actually getting much done, I will be posting the first chapter online, here and on a site for Web comics. Wanting to release the first chapter to get a feel for what you think of it, and if things need to be refined. I am very un-confident of my work and worry all the time that it will flop. This has held me back for way to long. I've had many people approach me at conventions and ask me when the comic will be out, some more strongly than others. :) Thank you! (I got told off a little at the last couple of conventions lol)
I plan on having everything that has been hanging over my head finished in the new year. I know I say this a lot, but 2013 has been my worst year for bad health, both mental and physical. Sorry for taking forever, and I hope that you are all happy with what you get in the end. Been going to the doctors a lot recently, and they are confident that I am on the mend. :D
In the New Year, I will also be fixing my prices. After meeting a lot of artists at conventions in Adelaide, but also artists from all over Australia, I have found that my prices were too low, and so devaluing my work. I will occasionally still do the cheap commissions, but they will be fewer and restricted in type. I want people to see that I am serious about what I do now, as now I plan to go professional with my art. A large portion of the hand made stuff will be dropped from my stock list after this last batch, and Art will be the main focus for what I am doing. That said, the other big news is that I am teaming up with Catboy Industries to start a business creating cosplay armour. We're mainly focusing on WoW and other such games, but are happy to accept anything that our clients bring us.
So here is hoping that 2014 is an awesome year, and that we get a lot done! It's going to be rough at the start, but I know that good things come to those who work bloody hard for them.
