Running in place, escaping inevitable
No way out, where could she go?
Stuck in place, she cries out again

Echoing sounds of madness, farther
Pulled back and snapped, an elastic
Held against her will, strapped down
No fooling the fool itself, she inhales

Face the intensity, piercing cool
Take in the sorrow, face the music
Hum the tone, she whistles away
Flat tones and far off notes she blows

A memory faded away, so far gone
Clutch the remorse, tuck it inside
She cannot seek, nor find truth
Locked up withheld from freedom

Cope with the loss, she tenses
Grasping nothingness, untouched
Longing for one more taste, she calls
Hollow and spitting back, silence

Left is her passion, lusting to waste
Dissolving back and forth, scattered
Held securely here, now, she questions
