Well, I did end up going to the ER. I was coughing, and hacked a blob of grey-green goo. With my lung disease, I try not to play around. My white-blood cell count was sky-high, though I didn't have a fever. I was told it was an infection in my lungs, and it had turn into sepsis. After a day and a half in a 6 bed ward, I was taken to a private room in the OB section. Nice.

I spent the next several days getting stronger, having steroids and antibiotics, but my white-cell count wasn't going down. After a couple days, they switched to a different antibiotic. My pulmonologist was stumped -- they had been treating it like pneumonia, though my CT scan was clear, so they didn't know what the infection was. Took 6 days for them to get my count down. By then I was tired of being poked, prodded, stabbed and nebulized at all hours of the day and night.

I got nauseous on the way out in the wheelchair, vomiting in the elevator, just outside the elevator, just outside the front door (in a bag this time), and several times on the way home. I was nauseous for several hours at home, and my TD (shaking hands) are still a problem. Ugh. I hate all this.
