Thoughts on commissions.

Still going back to the thought of commissions, like I do from time to time. I wish I knew what people would pay for something like what I have in my gallery. Any artists have advice? Any commissioners?
The time and effort I put into art, I couldn't ask for less than $100 for a finished colour piece like what I've got up. Even that much is iffy.
Like is $50 for a sketch, $100 cleaned up and basic colour, $150 nicer colour, plus or minus $20 for each depending on scale and stuff, too much or am I cheating out on myself? Backgrounds being a whole other category.
I don't know anymore.

I'd be ashamed to offer less than $200.00 USD for one of your typical, finished, colored pieces. Honestly I'd wanna pay you $250.00 USD for one of your single-character sassy pissin' pics. XD
You could go for wholesale prices and do $100.00 USD per piece, and you'd probably be able to rake in more willing buyers, but at the cost of underselling your worth.
What is it about commissions that makes you consider the idea? Do you need the money? Or do you want the money? If you just want extra money and more practice/time with art, charge more. Otherwise it's a balancing act of how little you're comfortable making in exchange for popularity and more steady revenue/profit.
