I want to keep going but my hand has been getting pretty sore so I don't think it's a good idea if I do

OO yeah, always a good idea to take a break when that happens.
I know a couple friends who hurt themselves pushing past that, myself included. It sucks. DX

Oof, yeah I can imagine... It sucks that artists are more susceptible to wrist and hand injuries but at least there are ways to combat it like wrist stretches and the like!
