Why not art recently
General
So the last year has seen me not upload any new art. It isn't a case of me being lazy however.
I draw in the iOS app Procreate. Which means using an ipad. Which means using my ipad I bought, when my job paid better, in 2015. You can probably see where this is going.
Apple have always and will always send updates out to worsen battery life on older devices. At first its not so bad, this began somewhere around 2018-19 on the device, but it still only needed charging every two days. It is now at a point where if I sketch and lineart, I have to stop and let it charge for a few hours, or keep it on charge the whole time but the heat from the battery makes it unpleasant to hold.
I really want to upgrade to a new ipad but my job is having to pay less and less due to funding issues, I just don't have the money. And I've never done comissions or considered doing them because I feel I'm not that good. Even if I wanted to do this to try and fund the ipad, I'd have to use my current one in the first place, which would mean not being very fast at all.
I'm still thinking at the moment about how to afford a new ipad, but for certain I have to get one by the end of the year if I want to keep doing art.
