I struggled with backgrounds for a while myself. I'm not sure when it happened, but like a light switch I fell in love with 'em (my comic used to not have backgrounds at all) it and so now it's something I really look forward to in a pic (so I save it for last). If you have any questions I'll gladly help in any way I can.

Ive watched your art for a quite a while and it always always always inspires me. I do my own comic and ive learnt soo much from doing it, but yeah backgrounds have always been my bane. I guess cause i get impatient to get a comic page out I kinda skim over the background but backgrounds can really bring the whole scene to life so ive been trying to take my art sloer and just think about natural things laying around . Im sure studying other peoples artwork such as yourself eventually, hopefully one day it'll click for me too.
sorry for the late post made it to Texas Fur Fiesta. got to dallas at 2 am had to wait till 2pm in the afternoon till we got our room and finally passed out slept about 4 hours went back to the con now ready to crash for the night but wanted to see the awesome final piece. I love it and very happy you had fun and a relaxing time doing it :) *hugs tight* thank you for much Noben

Well, and the rest of it, this is quite stunning all around, from the kuvrahks to the plants in the foreground to the shadows under the dock to the world in the background. I've kept this open since I noticed it a few days ago and keep coming back to look at it more...

Glad you got to do something personal! I try to do that for artists as well sometimes - I find you get nothing short of amazing results when you leave an artist to their own inspirations. ^_^ As per always, your lighting and tone is just gorgeous in that picture. I like the cute way of signing your name to it. ;) As a paw lover, I really like the new tweak on the Kuvrahk's footpaws, and of course, that they're all bare-pawed here. Expressions are fitting too - love the wonder in their eyes.
