Here is a view of Totnes (Littlehempston) station, on the South Devon Railway. I took this photo from my train as it was approaching Totnes main line station this morning.
In case anybody is wondering, Totnes only had one station, originally. As the branch line trains (the majority of these only had one coach!) , would terminate there, of course (hence the spur line in the foreground), they would run into one of the 'fast' lines in the middle after allowing the passengers to alight. As you can imagine, that was to make way for the long-distance trains that would call into the station e.g. The Cornish Riviera Express. During preservation days, the Dart Valley Railway (as it was known until 1991) originally intended to reconstruct the line back to Totnes' main line station but British Rail wouldn't allow them to do it. So to this day, they built the station in the photo (it's 500 yards from the main line station).
