"Pat it and roll it, and mark it with a J," said
Mirera, "and put it in the oven for .... Jennie, OK!" She took a few liberties to make it rhyme, but was rewarded with smiles and giggles from the baby bunny.
As for Jennie, she had just helped the kitty make cookies, she could smell the delicious aroma of imminent baked numminess, and Mirera was doing the "Patty Cake" rhyme with her, with the hand gestures and everything. Jennie was having the best time EVER.
This is the first drawing I've done in a while so I decided to put everything in it except the kitchen sink. Really. There's no sink. Well there is one, but it's off camera. Anyway, the background took forever, but I think it turned out pretty good, as I'm sure those cookies will, soon. What do you think of the cell shading? And since I can't do anything without experimenting, it seems, what do you think of the overlapping shading and shadow layers?

*blush* Thankoo Kammy! Well the precise part is because I used a vector layer in Sai for the background line art -- I decided to do this because it was a kitchen with a countertop and cabinets, so there were going to be lots of straight lines, and since I'm drawing digitally, why not have the computer handle the straight lines for me? If I were doing this traditionally I would have used a ruler/straightedge anyway. The 3D part is because I used perspective and have practiced a lot with it (but could always use more practice). But I love to help where I can, so if you really want me to show you what I know, we can talk!
I think I've told this story before, but I used to doodle on my papers in school all the time, but got made fun of for drawing people, so mostly I drew things, which got a lot less unwanted commentary, so without realizing it I got lots more practice drawing things than people.
(actually the pattern on the floor I drew freehand, but only after the rest of the background was done)
