You can purchase additional votes at $1 a vote. PM for further details if you are interested. Purchased votes are no longer redeemable for commission options.
Voting ends Sunday at 10:00 PM EST.
Results:
Mune (25 Purchased) - 104
Muirne (149 Purchased) - 210
VOTING OVER. Muirne wins the first page.

*They actually win nothing. Maybe I'll sketch something or something or I dunno. Pride? Pride is only one letter removed from prize you know. So that's what the winner gets. The letter 'd.'
**Because commission option redemption for purchased votes has been turned off.
Muirne's visual design as always belongs to skidd, from his character Jasmine, and is used with full permission.

Yikes, those carvings creeped me out! At first I thought the trees had eaten people. Hah, silly me, tree vore. Mune's expression and pose are fantastic by the way. And Muirne's reaction is great. XD
It's a hard vote, for me! On the one hand I do want to see Muirne get a comeuppance for outdoing my previous votes, but on the other, I have grown somewhat fond of the character!
I think the former option outweighs the latter though. I vote for Mune

This is a really lovely page. Fantastic detailed backgrounds, fun Muirnish dialogue (and monologue), and that last panel is just wonderful!
I still don't really know what's going on with Mune's arc, but hey if all goes well it may not be relevant by the end of this round!
So yeah, one more vote for Muirne please :)

If Mune is to have any chance of winning it would need to be with a large number of furs bankrolling him and all putting their votes in at the last minute.
Which I really hope happens. I have to wonder how much of those payvotes for Muirne were made by Muirne herself or were done by fellow furs recruited through Eka's.
Either way...FUCK.

I understand. Honestly I was a lot happier before the rules were changed and sniping was allowed. But if both people can do it, then both people have to be worried about the other doing it. Muirne got a lot more votes than needed, meaning either that there was extreme discoordination between people buying for her or that I expected Mune to be getting a comparable amount (as he has in previous rounds).
Also, at the time of the deadline, the count was out of date by... I think a day? Maybe a day and a half? Either way, "sniping" becomes a sort of meaningless distinction when a purchase 30 seconds before the deadline is equally unknown to your opponent as one 30 hours before.
I'd be happy to try to work out some sort of agreement with Mune which prevents sniping, but the logistics of it are very hard, especially since neither of us control our supporters

Well, thanks, I'm glad. I doubt it'll be enough for everyone, but oh well.
Also to some extent I think the last round with Muirne put me in a bad mindset. Roco was being helped by somebody who had absolutely no compunction against very large snipes, and so didn't mind me doing the same. Both of us really fought tooth and nail for our characters. I kinda came into this round anticipating the same type of thing, which was a mistake.

Not much reason for me to put my cents in, since Muirne's done a fair job of defending herself, but I would point out it's an expected reaction, based on the last round and one person in particular going out of their way to put Rafe on edge, they came into this fully expecting the person to do the same tactic, if you go look over the past few rounds with Muirne, the other party had upwards of 200 votes bought each time, and the same dickhead person has been as vocal and obnoxious over this round and simply making muirne 'lose', it's understandable Muirne came out fists swinging in this round.
If you need any defence at all, just look at the over-exaggeration in the votes bought, nearly a hundred dollars 'wasted', that wasn't just 'buying' a victory, that was expecting to be sniped and retaliating in anticipation.

It does make one wonder who can just throw money away like that. Don't get me wrong, I wanted Muirne to win, but not quite like this, and as seen in the convo just above with Rafe, he doesn't seem a bit happy with the sniping situation either. Some who read this will probably hate me for saying this now, but I really think the vote purchasing should just be ruled out because of things like this.
Well to be honest the vote purchasing is the entire reason this contest existed - so Stank could make some money doing what he loved. He just didn't anticipate people getting THIS worked up over their characters, and willing to defend them to this point.
I would really like to get a full, public breakdown of everyone who paid how much for everyone in every round...

A limit would work against Stank's best interests.
Put it out there exactly how much each fur put towards which person, like how political campaign contributions are supposed to be public information. Let the rest of the community go from there as to how they decide to act with that information and how they decide to treat people based on that.

Hmm, there needs to be some sort of way that it will work in Stank's interest but also be fair amongst the rest too.
That would be useful, though Stank probably would require each purchaser to consent to those rules, no? I'm pretty sure the users who make these purchases wouldn't want their names put up like the information was leaked.

Ironically, it's mewtwo's fault for the throwing money away. He's been behaving unpleasantly the past few rounds and generally making it his aim to just make Muirne lose just to spite her, the last few rounds saw bids upwards of 200 bucks each on both sides, Muirne trying to 'balance out' the grossly extravagant sniping Mewtwo was doing. Based on his behaviour, it meant Muirne came into this round fully expecting him to drop another huge snipe bid (hence going almost a hundred bucks over what was needed to win)
Personally I thought vote purchasing should have been ruled out from square one, but by the same measure I thought it should have had a much stricter rule-set, to prevent the 'campaigns' to vote for people, I wish the characters could have won or lost on their own merit, rather than certain people's popularity, when it's already a popularity contest, people's personal wealth dictating things doesn't really seem like much more of a jump.

Whoa, that says a lot now, knowing Mewtwo is one of the vote snipers, no kidding on irony! Unfortunately the next page or pages aren't going to be different with the sniping now, with what's set, I can understand why a hundred bucks of votes were pulled in, however now it just makes things look like someone is purposely purchasing the tournament in a nutshell.
This is what I thought, but apparently the VST probably wouldn't have come about if vote purchasing was unaccepted, and in honesty as much as it would mean the character I wanted to win would have lost, at least in some way, it's fair play. Just as you say though, I thought it would have a stricter rule-set too. Yeah, this is the sort of thing I prefer seeing personally, characters winning or losing on their own merit than wins dictated by popularity. At the same time, any vote can be biased. When I came across this, I had no idea who Mune or Muirne was, I just voted for who looks to be the most appealing predator and hoped for the best, if they lose, oh well, but some people really seem to take this too seriously that it's almost like a political campaign itself.

Yeah, I'd be calling him out directly, but when he spent a good $500 for roco to lose last round, he went and blocked apparently 83 people who voted for muirne. 'Course, I'm directly -opposed- to the brat, so take my words with a little salt, but from what I've seen he's the only sniper, a few rounds back he went on bragging about how he snipes all the time on Ebay and it's serving him well here (only to lose when Muirne won the first round), and all the other sniping and stupidly high bidding (and it -is-...Stank is -good-, but he's not 200 bucks for linework good, in my humble opinion) is a direct result of people trying to minimize his "Lol I have money so my opinion counts for more" behaviour, and he -is- trying to purchase the tournament, in essence. He made a big hoo-ha about contacting Mune and Dice-wolf (friends or somesuch, idk) and telling them he'd do everything in his power to make them win, purely because he was a sore loser over the last round, he doesn't even -know- Dice or Mune, just adopted an 'opponent of muirne is my ally' (Ironically, the two people Muirne won over last rounds both voted -for- her in this one xD)
Yeah, sadly it's just the way the world works, I appreciate the VST, and am glad it means I get to see more muirne. And yeah, that's the problem really, how do you organise the votes so that it's purely on a character basis, like you voted. Far too many people are voting simply because someone told them to vote for mune (a few for muirne, but I'm the only one who ever posts journals for her, I've seen at least four for mune, being able to buy votes only really adds in the unfairness of IRL wealth to the unfairness of popularity. Though I -do- think the cost is going a little silly, part of me thinks there should be a cap on 'winning' votes, like, you can only buy ten more votes than it takes to win, and anything else bought is refunded after the fact...but then, where's the incentive for stank to do that? And yeah, I hate how seriously it's getting taken, but again, Muirne is remarkably laid back about it, the only person I can see doing their damndest to treat it as a political campaign is mewtwo.

From what i can see there are just as many artist raffling and campaigning for Murine as well, personally i think everyone is taking this whole thing too almost idiotic levels. I think that at the very least, this round should be based solely on votes posted and not on vote buying. This being the last round and all, the whole thing has gotten out of hand for both competitors.
I am not really interested in doing any name dropping or or bashing people for what they do with their journals or what they choose to give away in order to win. But there was the raffle give away by Rafe last round that i thought was a little extreme, and even in your own journal you link to another artist giving away art to support the candidate you want to win. I myself have had a number of vores IM or note me asking if i wanted to try and do the same thing for her on my page. It's starting to become a little depressing.
I'm not trying to bash anyone, I'm genuinely curious, I always journal-plugged Muirne, and linking to the sole other person I'd seen doing the same seemed a fair thing to do. And again, to defend Rafe, that raffle giveaway, like his sniping, was deliberately to mitigate the raffle offer that Mewtwo put up (he's deleted it now sadly, so I can't prove it), the stupid amounts of money and silly raffles have always been done by Rafe to try and keep it fair, whenever Mewtwo tried to buy the competition, he's not exactly -enjoying- how much money he's wasting on the contest.
I'm glad you didn't, I really want Muirne to win, but it should be fairly done, not people whoring themselves out for votes.

I am at this point complete indifferent to who is going to win, because at the rate, its not a competition, its an auction. And if what you say is true, about Rafe just trying to do all he can to counter the actions of someone else, then he is just stooping to the offending parties level. It seems a little silly to spend so much outrageous amounts of cash just to keep your character from being eaten. but i guess that is pride talking.
if you think about it though in a sense it is kinda leveling the playing field when the counter is played cause it low for the sniper who started it. I figure its more like some one saying "knock off trying to cheep shot, and play fair" through surpassing the original snipers amount
