Yes, it's hardly beach weather in Indiana in January, and it was January 2013 when I commissiond this, but I was sick with a cold, and the weather was super cold too. So I talked to Kay about art that would help me feel happy and warm, and we bounced ideas back and forth and came up with "Jennie on a tropical beach, bothering crabs."
When at the beach, bothering crabs is a toddlerfur tradition. Interestingly enough, another toddlerfur tradition is getting pinched on the paws by crabs because you were bothering them. Quite a coincidence, that.
Anyway, I love the polka dot swimsuit and diaper cover, my happy and curious expression, the island and palm tree, and the cute crabs! "Hey! Hey ... Hey!"
