There is no point to love without pain,
Nor to pleasure without love:
Some dream to have love's twain,
To have joy without suffering.
But there is no point to love without pain,
Nor to pleasure without love.

Egads, it's truth!
antiup on the lute with me singing; forgive my French and I hope you enjoy the music!

Oh wow! Here I thought this morning doing laundry was to be uneventful, and then this shows up in my inbox! Really beautiful and lovely work, and I'm sure there'a thous subtleties I didn't even catch. Yet even my musically Neanderthalic ears can appreciate this. Simply glorious!
If your washing machine can do the laundry in a minute, I want it! It's a pleasant little song, and your ears aren't bad at all, there aren't any subtleties to pick up on - though the lyrics might take a bit of heartache to truly understand. And thank you, I'm happy to have pleased!
Not that I mean to ruin the humour, but I like your view on the music. Though I believe it pertains to more than just that, even if it's a short song, one can take love in its broadest sense and think that whenever we create or share our time with significant others, difficulty in both is inevitable but necessary in appreciating those moments of bliss and their worth. Also entropy, it takes work to go against the constant decay into a more random state and as you said, before embarking on any journey one must be aware that it won't all be fun and games. I just read your other reply, and I fear I got a little carried away; I'm pretty sure you had these insights already.
Very true! A core appeal to my sense of duality. And personally, I'd rather be successively blinded by alternating light and dark than numbed by an eternal sea of grey.
And I'd say that when you get carried away, that's when things start to get interesting. ;3 Nor can I claim any absolute insight, I'd argue that even when you think you have a matter pinned down to its truth, exchange with others will always uncover something new, be that from within, or without.

But they won't be beautiful if I bombard you with them! D=
And I'm 'fraid not, m'lady. I tried once, but the comments invariably decayed into either a discussion on how I looked or how I couldn't hold a finger to the great singers and violinists. I'm sure there's a recording with me here and there, but that's because I've worked with a few orchestras. Sorry... Don't worry, I'll try and put two or three things here a week!
