Here are two of my Marvel universe characters from roleplaying games in the past. I've changed FlyBoy's appearance a lot in the past. From a long-haired Rock kid with a thing for skulls, to a more modern super-soldier look, to finally something that takes away his "human" look, but for the form itself. He's still gotta have the form, but there's no reason for him to have a face... the most recognizable part of the human body.
Super Hero Name: Tsunami (SHRA Registered)
Real Name: William Hallsworth.
Affiliation: Gulf Coast Avengers/Avengers (post Civil War)
Powers: Water Control, Flight, and Scratch-Resistant (feeble body armor)
Story:Attending (fictional) Wick State University, Near San Fancisco, California, Bill was exposed to the effects of a mysterious accident near the Science building on campus. Along with many other individuals who were in the same area, he gained strange new powers. When learning that there were many new college students with unknown powers and could become dangerous if left to their own vices, the West Coast Avengers (under the direction of Wonder Man) headed up a new program called "The Jr. Avengers", where they were given access to certian privilages, as long as they kept their studies up. Several of these members went on to create names for themselves. After graduation, Bill went on to join the Avengers as a full member and after a short time in New York, he was sent to head up the new Golf Coast Avengers (There come to be a few differences in history as only a year or two later came Katrina.) A few years later, the Civil War broke out between the Super Heroes. Bill, who did not have a secret identity, registered with the SHRA and has worked to rebuild some facsimile of the Avengers as the world needs organized heroes to save the world.
Super Hero Name: FlyBoy (Un-Registered)
Real Name: Joe Black
Affiliation: Storm Front
Powers: Robot. Flight, Robotic Power-Pool (body augmentation, remote control, communications) Weapons/Military training.
Joe's life seemed rather normal. Until he came home from high school to find his father murdered in a room that had been hidden to him all of his life. That was when it became obvious (to everyone else) that he was a robot, upgraded through the years to look and act like a living boy. Strangely, others in his high school class also either began to develop super powers or came into the posession of equipment. With the coaxing of the super hero-bound "Tempest", the group formed a super hero team called "Storm Front". Eventually Joe's programming allowed him to acknowledge that he was a robot and his "loner" life became more complex.
At one time, Joe's independance was contested when it was discovered that his "father" had built him as property of Wilson Fisk. The trial tried to prove that Joe was sentient and therefore could not be claimed as property, but just before a verdict could be given, Tony Stark arrived to show that he actually had ownership and Fisk's claim was moot. He was "given" to Owen Foundation (the company owned by another member of Storm Front) and was never given his independance formally.
After years of feeling more alienated than the alien (Polaria) in the team, Joe eventually left Storm Front for time to reflect on his future and existance after a particular New Year's Eve party where he met another "robot" who dismissed him since they were a human stuck in a robot's body. Joe's absence meant that he missed the entire Civil War (being non-human, he was not required to register anyways.)
Very recently the Owen estate (and thus the computer that knew all of their identities) dissapeared (and left a giant hole in the Earth), the call to re-assemble Storm Front was sent out and the team reformed.
I may upload a colored version of this in time... for now, here is the pencil drawing.
