So, it has now been two years since randomonlooker died,
I'd like to post this little to put this up as a little 'in Memoriam'
First I play a well known middle English dance tune and then
a song, a literal translation is below:
Birds in the forests,
Fish in the rivers,
and I must go mad,
For I walk with much sorrow,
For the best of bone and blood.
And my interpretation:
There are birds nesting in the trees,
And fish swimming in the rivers,
I have nearly lost my sanity.
Too great is the sorrow I bear
for the most beautiful of flesh and blood.
And the original verse:
Foweles in þe frith,
The fisshes in þe flood,
And I mon waxe wood
Much sorwe I walke with
For beste of boon and blood
I don't think I can say much, so I hope you all enjoy it.

The dance is played on a rebec, an ancestor of the violin.
The song is an old recording which antiup cleaned up and it features randomonlooker as the lower voice. I sing the upper part.

It's a fun instrument - the best part is that one can easily sing while playing it!
It has the power to invoke peasants in the local pub to dance and drink some more. =P
As for the song, yes; it's strangely powerful in its plainness. Then again, they had a thing for monks and man's insignificance compared to nature and the Lord. Thank you *hugs back*
It was some of our favourite music all the same, ech, it's strange that after so long I still feel so out of place without him.

Just beautiful! There are no other words that can express the warmth this brings to my heart and such joy! The best way to remember someone dear - keep him in your heart and praise his deeds and never let them be forgotten - as it was said, one never truly dies and leaves us, unless we drop one out from our memories!
