On and off through the last few years, Vargr has toyed about with writing a series of short stories under a working title of “Cubs' Tales”. The series was intended to explore various topics this wuff had been wrestling with, of a moral or societal nature, and to give some of Vargr's attitudes on those subjects. All of this woven around an evolving story of a group of cubs who have happened to wander upon a strange and (some would say) disreputable 'hermit' living far in the woods; a former adventurer, rogue, ne're-do-well, gourmet cook, and hedonist. (To mention a few of his more “PG” titles.) ((Bet you can't guess who that “hermit” is portrayed by! *chuckles*))

So far, this wuff has sketched out several of the characters (giving them personality, back story, etc., along with their descriptions), a half dozen or so story topics, and one of the 'middle of the book' stories almost completed. In addition, there are a few paragraphs here and there, of concepts or segments of some of the other Tales.

In this New Year's Eve, Vargr thought this snippet from the final story might be appropriate...

Vargr hopes all have enjoyed this little story segment, on this eve of the ending of the old year and the beginning of the new! May we all remember that every ending is just a new beginning, if we can only look at it as such.
