I decided to try my hand at a concept drawing for one of the chief characters of my Seven Kingdoms series that I'm working on. This is Wyvera, a Forest Reptilian from the land of Kelstarine, and Helean's best friend. Originally Wyvera was from a raiding party of her clan, but she, unlike her brothers and sisters of the clan, did not believe fighting humans was the answer to regaining the lands taken from them by human settlers decades before. When she rescued Helean during an attack on her farm, Wyvera was banished, and became Helean's companion as they both sought a new home.

Eventually they found their way to the Kelstarine Deserts of Izralia, ruled by Sultan Izrail, a loyal and fierce subject of the Kelstarinese Empire. He took in Helean and Wyvera, despite the protests of his treacherous advisor, Salah-Mandin. Wyvera was made Izrail's personal bodyguard, due to being able to stay awake for days on end, and having senses far more keen than any regular person. Wyvera was also given new weapons and armour; despite her scales already being very dense and difficult to penetrate, the added protection of her breastplate, plate skirt, shield and scaled helmet make her especially difficult to harm, and the armour was made of Bronze, due to being lighter than steel, so that Wyvera could still move quite fast. Her shield was also made to fit over her forearm, so that, as Reptilians are known to do, she could still walk on all fours when necessary.

Wyvera is the strongest fighter in Izrail's army and a valuable asset to the Sultan. Her Reptilian heritage gives her superhuman strength and speed, and her heightened senses make sneaking up on her nearly impossible; she doesn't hear well and her vision is terrible at night, but her sense of smell and able to taste the air like a snake can do let her function even if she can't see. Wyvera is Helean's most treasured friend, and the two are rarely seen apart; they train and fight together, and make a very powerful team.
