Completed commission for hughesis over on DA. Been meaning to post his here but haven't had time over the past couple days. ^^'
I started off painting the values first (grayscale) and then I added the color later. Though I think in hindsight I should of added the color a bit sooner and then flushed out more of the details. Some details got a bit lost in the coloring process. Painting values first is a method I haven't completely worked out yet as it's something I'm still getting used to. I do like how it makes getting the contrasts easy but I've just got figure out when the magical timing is for putting down the color.
This was also my first time painting rubble and crumbled buildings. I threw in a crumbling Canterlot and the remains of what might have at one time been Ponyville.
