Winter Haven commissioned and colored pieces
Over a few years, I commissioned these pieces from a fantastic gaming industry artist, Ron Spencer, known for his artwork in Magic: the Gathering, World of Warcraft, and White Wolf games (especially Werewolf: the Apocalypse.) Here are the pieces in the order in which I commissioned them.
These are/were monsters used in a local Live Action Role Playing game I was involved with at the time (called Winter Haven).
Presented here are:
• "Living Vine", a plant monster that would snag its victims and attack them.
• "Spider Goblin", a sort of hybrid-looking monster that appeared to be a goblin-like head with spider-like body that would capture its victims in webs, and poison them (a very deadly combination in the game.)
• "Doom Worm", which can be as large as a carriage, or larger than a building. These creatures burrow underground and can attack from below. If caught by its massive mouth, the creature can inflict a MASSIVE amount of damage.
• "Flesh Golems" are monsters constructed from the corpses of the dead, either in whole, or in parts. Although they can be created by necromancy, the horrific properties of the Phanteran world can also cause them to be created "naturally" and rise to attack the living.
• "Tsunotaur Raiders" are a special sub-group of the Tsunotaur race that come from a very desolate war-ravaged land. Known to become so enraged, they can berserk and continue fighting beyond mortal death before collapsing as the rage finally leaves them.
I commissioned "sketches" from him, and then colored each piece digitally using Photoshop.
While the individual pieces are shown here in my gallery, I wanted to also show all of them at once as well, so that is why I have this file here.

Thanks. :) Unfortunately, this is old work. I haven't done much drawing in months.
I've got some stuff I've been trying to do to get myself back in some sort of mood/forced work... the best I've got so far is lay-out/design work recently.
But, who knows... maybe with less stress and some good internal motivation (and a bit of luck) I'll have something to show soon. :-/

Ron is such a fantastic artist. I really look forward to seeing the rest of his work in W20, and I'm glad to see he's back to illustrating again. :)
I've always admired his pencil work, so digitally coloring his stuff just seemed to flow so easily. He seemed impressed as well (I don't think he'd ever really had someone color is work like that before.)
I don't really do much digital color work, but I was sort of treating it almost like a "wash" because the pencil was taking care of much of the darkness.
