Okay, so this took way too much work to get right. Let me start from the beginning:
My birthday was last Friday (November 9th), and for one birthday present, I got Photomatix Pro 4.
For those of you who don't know, it's HDR image post-processing software. For those of you who still don't know, HDR is High Dynamic Range. Pretty much it brings more color to your photos by blending exposures. For example, if I were to take a photo of this non-HDR with the water in focus, the sunset would appear white, as well as the sky and the water reflecting the sunset. If I were to focus on the sun, everything else would be very dark. HDR fixes that.
Anyways, I wanted to get a sunset photo, so I drove myself out to the lake, and (probably trespassed, but no one gave a damn) went down from the road to the docks to get many many photos.
So I go home, and tonight, and I get around to setting up Photomatix. My computer has an I7 processor, so it's insanely fast, and I got the installation done within less than a minute. Crazy. So I get an image worked out, and I get it processed, and when I go to save it... the program crashes. After much swearing, it still crashes. I was veritably murderous, as I have had a bit of a rough day so far. After joking around in
LeoKingdom's art stream, I finally got it working. It took me about 30 more minutes to figure out how to convert the file format to .jpg from .tiff (seriously, wtf is .tiff?), and then get it uploaded.
And the HDR outcome doesn't look like clown vomit! Woohoo!

This here.. to me.. proves.. I am a lazy bastard in regards to my photos.. I just take them.. and 99% of the time.. never edit them.. if it's not good as is.. I delete..
><
Maybe someday I will care more.. maybe after I take my photography classes.. though most of those deal with film, so I don't know..

For the most part, I am the same :P
I just really wanted to be able to have HDR in my options list. As of right now, though, I don't like photos if I really have to edit them (beyond the occasional recoloring). It's just too much work and it makes me feel that the photo isn't... authentic. I don't like it when my photos aren't authentic.

I should upload a few of my edits sometime.. I do obvious editing where you know it's done, but it makes it look like it isn't a photo anymore, more like did art on a canvas rather than having taken a picture.. Someday when I'm not lazy. I'm just extra lazy right now while being depressed. I just have the urge to take the pictures to make myself feel better, not actually do anything with them.
Maybe I'll learn something interesting in my photo class I can bring to my digital photography.

Since I can though, examples I had on Deviant, I just don't really use it anymore because I've had issues with people stealing my work.. rather annoying but this is what I mean by my edits.
