PHEW this one is a very long time coming.

vixyyfox came to me with an idea for something for me to sing. It was a carol about the 1914 Christmas Truce (WWI, Look it up)
dolphinboy wrote music to her words, and made the backing track/choral parts. He also mixed the track.
luchs helped us out with a german translation
and
littlenapoleon drew the lovely thumbnail you see. (full sized version here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5859542/)
ALL OF THESE PEOPLE came together to make this touching little song.
I just sang it.
I know it's only November, but the idea first came up LAST November, so we figured we wouldn't wait any longer.
Enjoy

Some nice 2.0 Creative brand ones. Just a replacement for some phenomenally bad ones I bought at staples a month ago. Nothing super crazy. These ones
beautiful song. I just read about WWI and this is just a great song. I enjoyed listening to it for about the first 2-3 minutes. I got bored after listening for so many of the same versus. I would recommend putting in more dynamics, and play around with the song more. I'm also wondering if this was part of a larger choral arrangement since I'm hearing other parts very faintly, I kind of want to hear those parts, but then it would distract from your nice steady sounding voice. overall this is a very nice recording. thanks for sharing.
eep! You mean it won't play for you? Here's another place to hear it, though this is one of those pieces I did NOT write.
Here's one I did write: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8752109/
And here is another link to here the song on this page: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9203591/

"God is on our side, knows our hearts!!"
Said all in stride, than all is hollows
Of selfish pride, in black and white,
"For truth we died, yes in this fight!"
But nobody's wrong,
If everybody's right
Yet same I suppose
Reciprocal of those
And so is life
and yet still we fight...
Inspired, I wrote this
Trite though, I know
It is, and yet so I did
Hell then does it go
I do again 'n again
I really should stop
I would...but nop[e]
Now in all seriousness, I was thinking of Thomas Hardy's The Man He Killed
listening to this. I must say that it is a gorgeously orchestrated, if perhaps a wee
bit repetitive, but not annoyingly so like most pop music; and also it is of course
painfully poignant. Certainly when one considers how much of the human potential for
compassion that governments and media steal away, how much of the weakness
in human nature they exploit in their black game for mere profit. Add to that a
mass media and distant places, that people already feel no connection to,
to pillage, it's even worse today. We're still at war, in a war, that was never
officially declared and its just something now at the back of peoples minds we've been
lulled into such an apathy by corporations and creature comforts. (Not to mention our
overly chemical and processed diets) But that's not the critical thinking that would
help, because know there's a problem and even knowing what it is is not the same
thing as knowing at all how to solve it. Of first things first in need to get my own
poor health in order before I try to do much of anything else. I think now
I'll stop apologizing for the verbosity of these tangents I go off on since
It seem mostly that you do not mind. I really do need to learn to be more
concise in making my points regardless of the standing of my comments in
your eyes as I can probably say just is much with less. Less is more, right? We'll
see if that ever settles into my mind....

*giggles and applauds* nop :P You write me such lovely poetry
Yeah it's strophic (has verses) and a bit long, but I do my best to make the vocals just a bit different every time. Give the listener some variety.
I Think that people have fundamentally changed in how they think because how we learn has fundamentally changed. We should be more compassionate, but the fear machine is more effective than ever, and people learn to hate so quickly and easily. Everybody's scared, and everybody has a gun.
However, I do see a tipping point, where are more people have access to technology, they will met people from other places, see that we are all the same, and be less willing to hurt one another.
Everything changes when you have a rational conversation with a human being.
Aw, what kind of poor health?
And no I love your big comments! More is More!

Happy Stuff-Your Face and Pretend to Be Grateful Day Mr. Clark
(if you don't mind the formality of the statement)
Well I certainly know how to use bizarre words time to time
An' p't them together, when I remember, in a dumb rhyme
Indoctrination...the curse of the mass media
The talk about our differences so so much
And while claiming to be spreading tolerance
They are prodding at the hate potential buried
In human nature...this needs to stop
Don't think guns are the problem, them problem is
The environment and the various attitudes towards
Them...yes suspicion and fear mongering...
Desensitizing to violence and glorification to war
(Considering that, it's no wonder football is practically
Its own religion, its perhaps them most sickening of
what sport has become). Like the Brobdinagians in
Gulliver's travels, fair negotiation should be the means
of most interaction and war, warriors, weapons
and armies should be exclusively reserved for
defense of a country's own borders and the like
Keeping the peace not making the peace
Technology, it's a blessing and its a curse
(that is a part of what you're talking about
in Steel Machines, or no?)
Unity by technology nad understanding
Problem with that is the system drains
The intelligence, understanding,
and rationality right out of us
Like blood from a dire wound
Poor health like:
* Out of shape
* Tired even with sleep
*Memory loss
*Constant stiffness/pain in
the muscles in my
Back, shoulders & neck
And grinding of the muscles
in my head
(Doctor still hasn't figured
this one out)
+Plus kind of very depressed
and uncertain of myself
& the future
(Unfortunately these two
of course feed on each other)

Aw but I like football X3 I'm not a nut over it. Would never use it as an excuse to hate anybody.
I don't blame the existence of guns, But I don't like that we have provided them to so many insane warlords.
Diplomacy is seen as weak and like you said, war has been glorified. We should be thankful that it's less deadly. We don't loose entire generations like we did a hundred years ago. Still, I wonder how close we are to the relative extinction of large scale violent conflict. It has to stop eventually.
I hope you're getting help for your medical issues. I don't know much but a lot of that sounds psychological. Depression like you said. The world is a scary place and I'm similarly terrified in regards to my future. No idea what will happen but Ill just keep doing my best. Nothing is certain and nothing is secure.
Actually, I didnt intend any technological references in steel machines, but I'd love to hear your angle.

of the folk people of that time I listen to Simon and Garfunkle, Peter Paul and Mary, and a little James taylor.
John Denver never really caught my attention. (Same thing with Bob Dylan, who writes really good songs, but I don't like how he performs them. When Peter Paul and Mary COVER them however, magic happens)
