I was going to say does that make him a SEA Lion... but then I saw the strips.... Very nice job bringing it all together.
Having done a fair bit of diving he would have a hard time seeing anything with out a mask on... Then how do you seal about the mask with fur and it's very shape?

In the future, technology makes today's SCUBA look very primitive and steampunkish in comparison. Seeing underwater is a matter of focus, you can wear glasses or contacts that can correct the blurriness today. Artificial corneas that have a focus range that covers underwater would be commonplace for workers who spend a lot of time submerged.
I know what you mean first hand but with high technology, minor things like that are easily solved. Being artificial means it can be fixed or replaced or perhaps there is a bioengineering approach to it. I didn't cover it in the story and neither did Razee but one would assume that they could fix anything like that easily.
