Here is a male Karn. Roughly fifteen years old with about a year before he reaches full maturity and his runes grow in. The Karn race as a whole are very physical, regardless of their daily jobs which can have low physical requirements.

This young man could be climbing for the joy of seeing the world, or to push himself. Could also be looking for a new place to forage for food, such as fruits or nests of prey animals.

When he comes of age he will be expected to craft his own gun, so if he can not find his materials himself, he will need to find other resources to trade for them, or work for a gun smith.

By now he will already know how to survive and care for those in need and will either move on to military school, or try to start a home and make a living on his own.

If he went through military school he could explore the depths of Karnatia, look after the lands above, or join the ranks in space.
