For an artist challenge at MidWest Furfest. I love Waterbucks and don't get a chance to paint them very often. Since the piece is so small it was a good chance to indulge myself:) 3x3 watecolour on bristol.

Hmm let's see, the linework is dark sepia. The background is raw sienna and burnt umber. The waterbuck is raw sienna, burnt umber, yellow ochre, payne's grey, shading black and burnt sienna. Oh yes, and it's watercolour.

This is a neat idea... i'm not sure what the 'artist challenge' is about, but i suppose it must be something about making little 3x3 portraits? o.o
But yeah, this looks nice. You make good use of the space. :)

I could see a whole series of these, with the taxonomic name and all... Perhaps that's the point!
