When you live in or near the Sydney Basin, the big sport in town is the rugby league. Surprisingly, I have only ever been to one football match. My neighbour had two tickets given to him that he couldn't use, so dad snapped them up and we went down to the local stadium to watch the Penrith Panthers in action.

We had our spot up on the hill in among all the other families, and from there we could see the whole field - not as luxurious as the grandstand, but less crowded. Of course, I had little to no idea what was going on in the game - but it was still a great day out.

I don't remember much else about the day, apart from the size of the line at the canteen. I'm not really one for sports, and this was pretty much my dad's last attempt to try and get me enthused in his passion. It didn't work, but he tried and I shall always respect him for that.
