Nikara's pet is an unnamed species, found only in forests, they're very hard to find and even harder to capture. Usually when they are captured, it is voluntary on their part since they only ever truly bond with one person. They are telepathic, which is how they hide so well, since they sense other beings when they are close by and instill fears into their mind which make them easier to scare off.

They glide swiftly through the air with their arm flaps, their markings are very simple, a stripe down their back, the females have 3 solid stripes on their arms and the males usually have none or one spotted stripe. Once they bond with someone, they develop another marking similar to their "owners". They are very smart and very quick


Nikara found her companion in a forest while tracking a FTA (failure to appear) who was known for black market trades. She heard terrible cries of pain and went in search of who/what it was and found a creature about the size of a bobcat in a trap. Nikara carefully released the animal and took it back to the hole in the wall that she was staying at and set about mending its hurt leg. Once it was better, Nikara took it back and let it go, cept it wouldn't leave and kept following Nikara. Upon leaving for home, it snuck into her bag and traveled home with her, so she decided to keep her as a pet, knowing little to nothing about the animal.

Nikara named her companion Ijira as a shorten version of Ijiraat; An inuit myth of shape-shifters/land spirits only part it cannot disguise is its red eyes. Nikara has found that she mostly eats berries, fruits and nuts, but does love fish and will occasionally eat other types of meat.
